B I O G R A P H YConstructions 2005-2011 These sculptures began from assembling and painting scraps of wood left over from making furniture. Chris soon began collecting interesting pieces of wood and other objects specifically for this work. Inspired by architecture, sculpture, and the schematics and technical drawings of his daily work, this body of work brings abstract painting into three dimensions. Chris has exhibited at several galleries in the greater Boston area. Construction No. 19 was chosen for an award by juror Jennifer Witham Roff of the Decordova Museum. His work is in many private collections and the corporate collection of Boston Fiduciary Trust. He has taught himself a variety of mediums including watercolor, pastel, oils, and pottery. With the purchase of a new home came power tools and new skills in woodworking. He began making small furniture pieces and used the scraps to create sculpture. Chris received a BS in Electrical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and designs computer hardware for a product development consulting practice. Chris currently lives in Somerville, MA with his wife, Anna. A F F I L I A T I O N SCambridge Art Association (juried membership) F A C E B O O K |
